Start of the new season

masthome3

We have been working hard to get everything ready for opening on Thursday- 21 March- as always. The huge Gibson crosses are already in amazing flower, I think visitors will be surprised to see just how much colour there is. Late last week the magnolias at the bottom of the lawn began to show their pink petals and the furry perules are everywhere- Mike complains that they are untidy! On Friday night frost was threatened and we woke to see a white lawn and frosted windscreens. However the temperature didn't quite reach freezing and everything appears to be fine- time will tell if there has been any scorching as once the buds are opening, there is no protection.

We have had smart new signs made that will be put in place over the next couple of days- hopefully visitors will understand better where to pay, pick up a leaflet and find the Silent Space. Usually we will be around to answer questions and suggest which plants are at their best. We look forward to seeing you here again soon!
