A time of leaves

masthome3

December has been rather wet and miserable but we have gradually worked our way round the garden filling the leaf bins and picking up masses of sticks. As we rake the grass you can see all the early bulbs starting to show- it won't be long before the first snowdrops and narcissus!

With the trainees I have been planting more bulbs, particularly early and late 'Pheasant Eye' narcissus as there are several areas on the periphery that are now really garden. Surprising amount of stones and schist just beneath the surface makes for difficult excavation.

We've also been filling seed packets for the Scottish Rock Garden seed exchange- you can see that Bow has enjoyed taking part!

Happy Christmas to everyone!
