Golden dragons

The garden is showing some good colour as it gets colder. Obvious contenders include the acers and Parrotia persica as well as the Cornus kousa on the lawn. Just at the moment the star of the show is the Hydrangea petiolaris- we have several growing up trees that cause surprise as you walk round the garden- they can be 15 metres up into the sky!


Mike wrote some time ago that they are

'golden dragons snaking through the oak trees' and this is how I now see them.
