Signs of spring

masthome3

We have cleared most of the fallen trees and timber with only a couple of awkward ones to be tackled by Liam the tree surgeon. It’s been a wet week but we have achieved lots with 2 of our grandsons, Bruce and Louis working as part of their Duke of Edinburgh. Wonderful to be 16, fit and strong!

As the temperature rose on Thursday, the frogs all appeared in the small pond by the round tower- and the frog spawn is growing rapidly! It’s lovely to hear them croaking away and having a great time. The tiny Crocus tommasinianus are everywhere when the sun shines and narcissus starting to flower. In the rock garden, there are already 3 rhododendrons in flower- R Bric a Brac I’ve already mentioned, R Praecox and R moupinense. It’s all about to happen again!
