Generally a poor year for magnolias but right now M wilsonii is flowering as well as M sieboldii ( the flowers sit side ways, looking at you rather than hanging down as in M wilsonii). No flowers this year on M rostrata but wonderful new foliage!

And a first flower on M Yellow Lantern- not really yellow but it may improve over time! Much more dramatic and beautiful is M laevifolia with its contrasting brown buds and soft white flowers.
